Matterra is the result of the combined efforts of companies and a faculty: O.P.S. Breznik d.o.o., Ekstera d.o.o., and the Faculty of Polymer Technology. Our passion is sustainability, and our goal is to create an innovative pot that reflects our commitment to preserving the environment.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Matterra is more than just a cup. It symbolizes the fight against the overuse of virgin materials in disposable products. The design of the cup reflects the destructiveness of this issue, while the lines symbolize the confluence of Carinthian rivers.
SUSTAINABILITY AT HEART
The main raw material is polylactic acid, derived from fermented sugar obtained from agricultural residues. Local hops add a unique touch. Our sustainability philosophy goes beyond raw materials – the cup is made from a bio-based thermoplastic composite, making it reusable and dishwasher-safe.
FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND PEOPLE
With high material durability and excellent insulation, we maintain the beverage temperature regardless of external conditions. At the end of its lifecycle, the cup can be recycled up to 10 times, after which it goes to industrial composting, eliminating the need for energy-intensive recycling or landfill disposal.
